Posted on March 05, 2018

On the 7th of April 2018, the Crystal Ship Festival returns for the third time to the city of Ostende, Belgium. The festival is a contemporary art festival that specializes in public space producing over 25 installations, sculptures and murals per year. The Crystal Ship also represents a selected group of visual artists worldwide and responds to their needs in the ever-changing domain of art and culture.

During the festival, world-renowned artists create gigantic murals and fantastic art installations that form a permanent exhibition in the city. The line-up for 2018 includes artists such as A Squid Called Sebastian (BE), Ben Slow (UK), Colectivo Licuado (URY), Etam Cru (PL), Icy & Sot (IR), Jaune (BE), Joachim (BE), Matthew Dawn (BE), Milu Correch (AR), Oak Oak (FR), Telmo & Miel (NL) and Zoer x Velvet (FR).

But the Crystal Ship is more than ‘just’ a festival. As the curator of The Crystal Ship, Bjørn Van Poucke, explains: "Over the course of 2 years we created +40 impressive murals, installations and +200 smaller interventions. Right in the center of the city, the place where people live and work. That is pretty unique!” Besides the festival, the organization also creates guided tours, and gives chances for young talent.
