Saving Banksy

A new Banksy film will hit the theaters this weekend! In this thought provoking documentary - it's byline alone is pretty controversial - filmmakers Kevin Zinger en Collin Day hope to spark up the debate about who owns (street) art, what the difference is between preserving and stealing these works and question artistic license, legality and illegality and other deeper rooted issues surrounding street art.

The documentary follows a misguided art collector’s attempt to save a painting by infamous British street artist Banksy from destruction and the auction block. It asks the question, ‘What would you do if you woke up one morning and found a million dollar Banksy spray-painted on the side of your building?’

The filmmakers won't be answering their questions alone. An impressive line-up of street artists, like Blek le Rat, Ben Eine and Niels "Shoe" Meuleman, are there to help. Exclusive footage of their work and interviews with these artists make Saving Banksy a great watch for any street art lover!

Saving Banksy will premier in theaters in US on the 13th of January and will hopefully be available in Europe soon.
