Meet the artist: JAUNE

Posted on July 21, 2017

Vroom &Varossieau gallery works with many diverse artists from all over the world. All insanely talented but also extremely different. We want to provide you with more insights into their practice, creative process and work.
This is their story.

This time we caught up with Belgian stencil artist Jaune. We talked about summertime plans, new ideas and his little yellow friends!

You're always on the go. Do you have any new, exciting projects coming up or traveling anywhere new or different soon?

I will have a quiet summer: few commissioned walls and I'll mostly use that calm moment to produce a new generation of stencils, there are some ideas I'd like to start since a moment. After the summer I'll take part to a festival in south of France and to some group show in Sweden and in New York!

You are known for your little yellow sanitary worker characters, do you think you will ever introduce other characters or do something completely new?

I already made some few extra characters like policemen and soldiers, but I think I will introduce more type of "public workers", like construction workers for example, but I won't quit with the trashmen yet, as long as I have something to tell with them and as long as it continue to bring me fun to work with them I'll continue. I have some ideas to make an evolution in my universe, but I will need time to make it, that's why I'll use this summer time. My work is always developing and I'll start to add some new elements. There are also some new techniques I'd like to work on, but it will take me even more time, I need to practice!
